How do certain laws determine architectural possibilities? How can architects, in turn, shape those laws? This exhibition in the gta exhibition space at ETH Zurich presented both the film 0187.2 Legislating Architecture and the publication 0187.1 Legislating Architecture Schweiz. The pages of the book were attached to the wooden stud wall and the preliminary version of the ARCH+ issue on the same topic 0187.4 ARCH+ Legislating Architecture was made accessible on a touch screen. In parallel, the film Legislating Architecture was projected at the rear of the room. In order to provide seating to watch the film all books from the holdings of the ETH Library on the subject of “legislating architecture” (keywords: building law, laws, regulations, among others) were borrowed and fixed with packing foil to form 40 centimeter high stacks. In the foyer, the publication 0179.1 The Dialogic City—Berlin wird Berlin and Monumentalfilm were shown on a monitor.
