Fresko is a delicatessen shop located in Berlin Mitte. As indicated by its name, it provides mainly fresh food, including cheese, wine, antipasti and other Italian specialties. Due to this premise, the idea of a walk-in fridge was born, providing exactly the 7 degrees legally necessary to maintain the cooling chain for said produce. The concrete finish of the interior walls was inspired by the passage walls that are connecting the public street with the private courtyard of Brunnenstraße 9 nearby. It makes the fridge appear like a shop in a shop, suggesting that it might also be outside. Thought as a prototype to more local affiliates, the fridge as well as the backdrop can be altered site-specific.

Fresko's walk-in fridge as well as the desk and counter were manufactured by Ertl und Zull.
